Instructions for Christmas tree

Papertree9Here we are with the template and the how-to instruction for those lovely Christmas trees. It’ll look best if you cut two sizes of the trees (see second line on template). The pictures of my galery will show step by step how they are folded. To “close” the tree use simple glue, when choosing double sided adhesive tape the trees can be placed on the table immediately without waiting for the glue to dry. Small stars or hearts marked with the name of your guests and hanging around the top of your trees make them work as table cards.

Christmas trees

Weihnachtstisch1Our Christmas tree is not yet put up but lots of them already assembled on our livingroom table for tea time. On the plates you find some lovely gingerbread trees decorated with green icing sugar. In the cups I placed some treelike folded napkins. The give away for every friend is one of my fabric Christmas trees held by a cinnamon bar. Place holders are common German Froebel paper stars. I found a really fine instruction at craftideas. I followed step 1-24 and then cut off all remaining strips except one. This one should be shortened, folded aside and then marked with the guest’s name. A little coniferous “woodland” forms the center piece of my table. The folded trees are made of Christmas papers matching with the colors of table cloth, papernapkins and gingerbread trees. Free template here. To leave enough space for a large cake and different cookies the only flowers are two Christmas roses in a test glass. For this purpose I dabbed the contours of my creamy stars in a dark mocca and made it twinkle by applying some golden glitter. Besides the inevitable Christmas cookies there will be a Sacher cake with whipped cream.

Girlie’s Holiday

Pinkchristmas1Why always cling to red an green for Holiday? Even on Christmas or maybe just for Christmas we should decorate our house or table in colors we really love. That’s why today I want to show you a table in purple and pink. Starting point was a package of paper napkins that is completed by a little garland, a twinkling glass tee light holder and the flower of a Christmas rose. Purple Christmas balls and cones are knotted to a purple ribbon. Then twist around a rose curling ribbon and glue some wooden stars, also different shades of purple and rose, in the space between balls and cones. For Christmas just place the garland on top of some fir twigs. For the Christmas rose simply paint one of my stars posted on November 21st in a matching purple shade and accentuate with some silver glittering powder. Tie a small piece of garland ribbon around the test tube, fill it with water and put in the rose. Scatter some wooden stars on your table and if you like just glue some of them on a ribbon to be used as napkin ring.

A triplet of chocolate cookies

Once again one of the really useful recipes created by Dr. Oetker. Making three different holiday cookies with one pastry only. That saves time and they’re delicious nevertheless.

Santa hat cheesecake

Santahat4

When looking for some new and interesting Holiday recipees I found lovely Santa-hat-cheesecakes on Rachels blog. Her instructions are perfect and quite easy to follow. I’ll simply add some pictures of my Santa-hat-cheesecakes.
There you’ll see that I had to replace the strawberries because in December it’s quite hard to get tasty ones in Germany. I simply took raspberries for the hat.
