Cauliflower Casserole

Blumenkohl5Time for cauliflower is up but deep-frozen you can savour it the whole year through. Our kids often ask for it when they come home. Cauliflower on a yeast dough baked with cheese. If you don’t have time or don’t dare to make the dough yourself you may take a convenience product as well. The 11″ springform tin and a salad accompanying it will make 4  lunch dishes. If you need less you can deep-freeze the remainders very well and eat them lateron lightly warmed up.

Ingredients:
Convenience dough or 1/2 recipe of pizza dough (see here)
1 cauliflower or 1 package deep-frozen cauliflower
7oz boiled ham
1 egg
7oz sour cream or crème fraîch
2tbsp corn starch
3oz ground Emmenthal cheese

Directions:
Greas springform tin
Preheat oven at 390°F

Prepare dough according to instructions on package or prepare 1/2 a recipe for pizza dough. Unroll and give into an 11″ springform tin lifting the edge.
Wash cauliflower and break into small florets. Cook in salted water for about 5-10 minutes. Cut boiled ham and add to florets with egg, sour cream and corn starch. Flavour with pepper and salt. Pour over dough and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in pre-heated oven at 390°F for 35-40 minutes. Remove from oven and cut into quarters and serve with lettuce.

Remarks:
Cut into pieslices you will have a good portion for dinner.
