Holiday Table Ideas III

Weihnachtenbraun9In my December 12th post I told you that the Christmas ball candleholder would embellish my table for Christmas Eve. Together with two further specimen in lightly different shades it’s standing between fir twigs I placed in a line in the center of our table. The checkered ribbon has been replaced by a satin/organza ribbon in dark brown. A golden and a dark brown bead chain are loosely twisted around the twigs and some small Christmas balls placed in between. In addition I scattered some little golden stars on my white coffee colored table cloth. This is all because there’s some space needed for bowls and further dishes and I hate to remove decoration before placing them. I chose a plain colored napkin with a floral embossed design folded like a Christmas Tree. I dressed it up with little cones holding a name tag. (seen on hgtv.com) The tips of the scales are to be colored in creamy white and studded with little pearls in white or silver. For the name tag cut some paper stripes of 3 x 0.5 inches and fix the cone on one end. Use a pigmented pencil if you have chosen a dark paper.
How-to instructions and detailed pictures for the napkin tree will follow tomorrow.
You may of course change the colors for this decoration. Very nice and precious are white, silver or golden Christmas Balls for the candleholders and for the bead chains. Then it’s worthwhile to take a dark green napkin repeating thus the twigs’ color.
