Having a look at our caldendar however tells us to start with winter preparations. For the beginning we&#8217;ll make a really thick and warm infinity scarf. I made it with a wool mixture for needle size 4-UK\/10.5-US but knitted it with a double thread and neddles size 17 &#8211; US\/12 metric. With a yardage of 142 m \/ 100g I needed about 270g for my scarf.<br \/>\nCast on 22 stitches for a 20cm wide scarf. (Number of stitches for this pattern &#8211; divide by 4 plus 2 edge stitches)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/der-erste-loop\/loop2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6805\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6805\" alt=\"Loop2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop2.png\" height=\"240\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop2.png 600w, http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop2-400x160.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>First row:<\/strong> Edge stitch (slip it), # 3 knit stitches, 1 purl; repeat from # and stop with an edge stitch (knit).<br \/>\n<strong>Second row:<\/strong> Edge stitch (slip it), # 2 knit stitches, 1 purl, 1 knit stitch # repeat sequence and finish with an edge stitch ( purl).<br \/>\nBy slipping the first stitch of the row you make your edge tighter (because you are basically knitting this stitch every other row) and if it is done right \u2013 a beautiful braid runs along your edges.<br \/>\nRepeat first and second row and bind off after 130cm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/der-erste-loop\/loop4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6808\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6808\" alt=\"Loop4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop4.png\" height=\"240\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop4.png 600w, http:\/\/www.bastelesel.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Loop4-400x160.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Put ends together and sew them with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sew-it-love-it.com\/slip-stitch.html\" target=\"_blank\">slip stitch<\/a>.<br \/>\nWorn in a double loop even the coldest days won&#8217;t make you freeze.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most days are still sunny and we refuse to think about odd weather and freezing temperatures.
